The Mariners by Paul Ainsworth – The Slipway, Rock

Distance from Kilden Mor: 1.5 miles (including a short ferry crossing), 20 minute journey. Check the ferry times as they vary summer and winter.

This local institution reopened in 2019 as part of Paul Ainsworth’s ever expanding portfolio of Cornish pubs and restaurants. Expect excellent food in classy but cosy surroundings with great views across the Camel Estuary. Fabulous, summer or winter. Great for Sunday roasts – a speciality in the winter. The staff are friendly. Worth booking in busy periods

Rick Stein’s The Cornish Arms – Churchtown, St Merryn

Distance from Kilden Mor: 3 miles, 60 minutes walk (along the A389) or a 10 minute drive, with buses running every hour during the day.

Rick Stein meets the local village inn, offering a classic pub menu with favourites including fish and chips, curries and pies along with a pint of St Austell beer. Great beer garden with plenty of seating in the summer months. Sunday lunch is very popular. During the busy season, its worth booking to avoid disappointment.

Golden Lion –  Lanadwell Street, Padstow,

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.5 miles, 7 minutes walk

This is Padstow’s oldest pub – open since the 17th century and run by the Rickard family for over 30 years. The Golden Lion remains a traditional boozer with dark, cosy corners and fine beers on tap. It’s also and integral part of the annual Obby Oss May celebration.

Shipwrights – North Quay Padstow

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.5 miles, 5 minutes walk.

Shipwrights (which means ‘shipbuilders’) was once the preserve of the town’s fishermen and tradespeople. Today it’s hugely popular with visitors attracted by excellent views of the harbour. It’s a great spot to sit outside and enjoy the harbour.

The Harbour Inn – Strand Street, Padstow

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.5 miles, 6 minutes walk.

Tucked away up a little alley by the harbour, escape the hustle and bustle of Padstow life and enjoy traditional cask beers and plenty of locally caught fish and shellfish on the menu.

London Inn – Lanadwell St, Padstow

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.4 miles, 7 minutes walk

A family run pub with bags of atmosphere that’s just a stone’s throw from Padstow harbour. The London Inn has a cosy interior and sunny roof terrace at the back, perfect for catching a few rays.

Old Custom House – South Quay, Padstow

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.4 miles, 6 minutes walk

Situated on the quayside, the Old Custom House is a Padstow landmark with its distinctive stone frontage offering fine views across the harbour. Inside you’ll find a spacious, traditional style bar along with a traditional ‘pub grub’ food menu.

 

The Old Ship Hotel bar – Mill Square, Padstow

Distance from Kilden Mor: 0.4 miles, 7 minutes walk

The last bar on the north side of town, the Old Ship Hotel is perfectly situated as a destination (or starting point) for walkers on the South West Coast path.

Ruby’s Bar – Broad Street, Padstow

If you’re looking for something a little special and intemate, then pay a visit to Ruby’s Bar. Perfected desination for a cocktail or celebration. Part of the Rick Stein group.

BinTwo – The Drang, Padstow

A friendly, cosy Wine Bar that’s also an off licence too. Bin Two has a great wine menu with a  carefully selected range of wines to satisfy any palate. If you’re not sure, the knowledgeable staff are on hand to help you. An outside covered space is also available with, extending the experience of this intimate bar.
