Guide to the Cornish Panto Season 2023

It is that time again! Panto Season is upon us and whether you are young or just young at heart there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in Cornwall in this December and January!

Here is our top pick of the many fabulous shows across Cornwall . . .

Peter Pan – Hall For Cornwall, Truro

4th – 31st December

This year’s pantomime at the newly refurbished HFC stars our very own Edward Rowe (aka the Kernow King) as Captain Hook. This production of JM Barrie’s classic coming-of-age adventure, Peter Pan, is stuffed full of pesky pirates, freewheeling fun and a gaggle of lost boys. So why not take flight with Peter, Wendy and of course Tinkerbell too!

The HFC will be sprinkling the fairy dust this Christmas on a journey to naughty Neverland where dangerous pirates and a certain crocodile are lurking…

The show runs from 4th to 31st December so grab yourself a ticket HERE and make sure you forget all your worries, sew on your shadow and think your happiest thoughts!

The Mousehole Cat – The Solomon Brown Hall, Mousehole

16th – 31st December

The cat is back for 2023! Now in its eighth year this show, adapted for theatre by Alan M Kent, brings the timeless Cornish tale of The Mousehole Cat to life! This magical puppet and live-action performance is becoming as much a tradition in the village as its famous Christmas light display.

Based on the well-known Cornish legend this is the uniquely heart-warming story of the friendship between a fearless fisherman and his devoted cat and how together they save the village from starvation. It is a show that will warm the cockles of everyone’s hearts… “almost as much as an ‘efty portion of stargazy pie!

With a relatively short, hour-long run time the show allows families to soak up the atmosphere of Mousehole’s wonderfully picturesque harbour and its fantastic Christmas lights while also enjoying the live performance all in one evening.
