2024 Guide to Christmas Fayres and Markets in Cornwall

It is time to embrace that Christmas spirit and snap up some festive delights for you and your loved ones this November and December with our guide to Cornwall’s Christmas Markets and Fayres!

Whether you are looking for unique gifts, cute stocking fillers, a deliciously local treat for the big day or just want to soak up the atmosphere, you are sure to have fun at one of these wonderful events.

Truro’s Big Christmas Market

22nd Nov – 24th Dec

9am – 5pm every day (Wednesdays until 9pm)

Cornwall’s big, little city is pulling out all the stops this year as their Christmas market returns bigger and better than ever. Traders from all over Cornwall will be on Lemon Quay in Truro every day in the lead up to Christmas, offering a wide range of crafts, exciting gifts and tasty food and drink. This is a great opportunity to meet and buy from local producers in a friendly, magical atmosphere.

As well as the cosy wooden cabins for the stallholders and lots of sparkling lights around the town, there are also plans for a 30ft Christmas tree in the centre of the market and a giant inflatable snow globe offering a brilliant chance to get some festive family photos!

Healey’s Christmas Markets

9th Nov – 15th December

Returning for their 8th year Healey’s Christmas Markets have become a firm favour with families. Over the six weekends in November and December the farm will be transformed into a fairy tale world of mulled cyder and hearty food, Christmas songs, and Cornish crafts.

Always popular it is best to book tickets for these events in advance and make sure that you bring a healthy appetite and a jolly Christmas spirit along with your family and friends.

Bude Christmas Market

1st December, 11am – 4pm

This lovely community event with be held at the Castle Heritage Centre this December and will feature 50 artisan stalls selling a range to wonderful gift ideas. There will also be a children’s magic show, face painting, Santa’s grotto, live music throughout the day and crafting sessions all for FREE!

Bude’s Christmas Market may be small but it is the perfect way to immerse yourself in a little festive cheer while also supporting local traders!

Falmouth Festive Weekend

7th – 8th December

This year Falmouth really is pulling out all the stops and putting on a real festive extravaganza! There will be magical snowy streets to walk through, a huge snow globe, an ice-skating rink and curling lane to enjoy, all day carol singing on the Moor and a Santa’s Grotto where you can meet the man himself and donate a gift to a family in need this Christmas.

There will be market stalls throughout the town selling great gift ideas, between Events Square and the Moor, and lots of festive food and drink too, plus the National Maritime Museum will be offering FREE entry all weekend. For more information on all that’s on offer check out the town website.

Bedruthan Christmas Fayre

23rd & 24th November

The annual Bedruthan Christmas Fayre is a real highlight of Cornwall’s Yuletide calendar. Each year the north coast hotel welcomes craftspeople from across the south west for a weekend of Christmas glamour and glitter.

Along with the stalls of seasonal goodies there will also be crafting drop-in sessions to bring out your creative side, including Christmas card and decoration making and festive biscuit decoration. Even more Christmas cheer will be supplied by the carol singers, Christmas tea and cakes and a post box outside of Santa’s grotto to post those little ones wishes off to Santa in the North Pole.

Cornwall Christmas Fair at the Eden Project

27th & 28th November

This Christmas the Eden Project is offering a lovely range of festive ideas for all the family, from the opportunity to meet Santa to ice skating and a spectacular light display inside the biomes but for one weekend there is also the chance to pick up some amazing gifts as they host the Cornwall Christmas Fair.

With lots of fun activities and a huge range of stalls, from gifts, clothing, jewellery and home accessories, through to a mouth-watering array of food and drink in the Food Hall, this is a “shop til you drop” event. It is also heartwarming to know that all the money raised from tickets sales will be going to the wonderful local charity, the Cornwall Community Foundation, too.

Fowey Christmas Market

22nd – 24th November

Fowey Christmas Market is one of Cornwall’s most magical festive events, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to the quaint harbour town each winter. Fowey really comes alive with festive cheer, there is Christmas shopping, seasonal music, and a smorgasbord of quality locally produced food and drink, and festive gifts to choose from.

Festive activities take place throughout town and the fabulous Christmas Markets packed with almost 100 local traders spread across the stunning Fowey Town Quay, Albert Quay and Webb Street venues. This is a popular yearly event where locals and visitors alike delight in the warm, friendly community atmosphere.

The Cornish Winter Fair, Wadebridge

23rd – 24th November

Held at the Royal Cornwall Show Ground, just outside Wadebridge, the Cornish Winter Fair is an annual celebration of farming and food in Cornwall. Taking place across two days, it starts with the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show on Saturday. This rural event has been running for nearly 150 years and can get very competitive! Bringing together the very best animals from across Cornwall and beyond, there are prizes for cattle and sheep as well as produce, craft and cookery.

The Winter Market spans both Saturday and Sunday showcasing over 150 trade stands offering food, drink, crafts, and much more. There is so much to see and do for children too with an educational discovery zone, the chance to meet some animals at the rare breeds exhibit and a Santa’s Grotto!
